The Amsterdam Art Orchestra, the brainchild of Marike van Dijk, is a recently formed big band with European giants such as Franz von Chossy and Tineke Postma, but also upcoming stars such as Ella Zirina, Nabou Claerhout, and Suzan Veneman. Adventurous and brand-new big band music, usually composed by talent from our own soil. Marike goes for an original sound and wants to stimulate young women in jazz while she’s at it: in her flashy formation, women form the majority.
