The Amsterdam Art Orchestra, the brainchild of Marike van Dijk, is a recently formed big band with European giants such as Franz von Chossy and Jasper Blom, but also upcoming stars such as Ella Zirina, Nabou Claerhout, and Suzan Veneman. Adventurous and brand-new big band music, usually composed by talent from our own soil. Marike goes for an original sound and wants to stimulate young women in jazz while she’s at it: in her flashy formation, women form the majority.

Is there kids’ programming?
Yes, on every festival day there is a program for kids, check out our Kids page for more information. And: entrance is free for children and youth up to 18 years! They do need an entrance ticket, which you can order through the ticketshop.
