Royals in love
A queen and her king, a king and his queen. Following triumphs in Paris and Amsterdam, star soprano Jeanine De Bique meets Maarten Engeltjes with his baroque band today, for a programme riddled with ups and downs. The puppeteer of the day is Georg Friedrich Händel, who enjoyed nothing more than teaming up with his army of Italian divas and divos to save the London audiences from their thirst for drama. Get swept away by the doomed couple of royals Rodelinda and Bertario, and bite into the juicy romance between Caesar and Cleopatra.
