Stages

At the estate of Schaep en Burgh, Wonderfeel’s summer wonderland, there will be six stages this year; each with its own signature. The distance between these cultural checkpoints is small, and yet you’ll still find yourself in a completely different atmosphere for each one.

The Field

Next to the manor house is The Field, the heart of the festival. This is where you arrive, where you can buy your Wonderfeel merch, and where you can relax in the grass to enjoy the most beautiful music. Symphony orchestra and string quartet, summery bossa nova and baroque fireworks.

The Meadow

The Meadow is where you’ll discover new dimensions of classical music. Fresh new compositions, unusual combinations, pop, jazz, electronics, non-Western music, everything goes. If you insist on labelling The Meadow, it would be unorthodox, original and genre fluid.

The Forest

At the end of the path into the forest is an idyllic oasis for all kinds of music tastes in an intimate setting. The Forest is where moments of pure bliss come together with your experience of the music and of the surroundings. Stravinsky’s Sacre du Printemps for four hands on the piano juxtaposed with jazz improvisations for guitar and voice, singer-songwriters combined with pas de deux for gamba and dance.

SOLO

Someone who is onstage by themselves, lives off the interaction with the audience. And that interaction is what SOLO is all about, an intimate stage where the soloist and the audience are committed to each other, in the best and most exciting way. For piano experts: on the SOLO Sunday this stage will be the exclusive domain of pianists, harpsichordists and an organist.

The Town

The Town will be the place to be for Wonderfeel’s youngest visitors. At the edge of The Field, that is where on Saturday and Sunday a continuous children’s programme will take place with plenty of opportunities to create, to drum, to find critters in the pond, to laugh at the puppet show, and much, much more.

The Shed

A stage between evocation and reflection, between movement and thought. The Shed is a sort of laboratory for everything to do with images, stories and music, a stage where personal stories, experiences and memories come together with music. Open your eyes, listen carefully and let your mind be challenged.
