Komorebi Voice, piano, viola da gamba, and medieval harp combined with subtle electronics: the perfect threads to weave an enchanting sound tapestry. Echoes of Hildegard von Bingen, Perotin, and medieval pilgrim songs melt together with improvisation and poetry. Inspired by the Japanese term komorebi – sunlight falling through leaves – the Finnish-Dutch trio explores the experience of time and the way these beautiful medieval melodies and texts speak to us today. How the original ‘now’ – the moment quill touched parchment – can continue to sing long after.
Aino Peltomaa – voice & medieval harp Harmen Fraanje – piano & synth Mikko Perkola – viola da gamba & effects
