‘Poëzie is sexy’ kopte Babeth Fonchie Fotchind vorig jaar nog in Vogue, dat haar koos tot Next Talent to Watch. En watch deed Vanhauwaert: ‘Ik geloof dat Babeth een stem heeft die gehoord dient te worden. Als geen ander belichaamt zij de diversiteit in onze samenleving en als geen ander vindt zij daar woorden voor.’ In haar debuutdichtbundel Plooi (2022, Uitgeverij De Geus) verkent Babeth alle aspecten van haar identiteit: lesbisch, zwart, vrouw, millennial, kind van migranten en meer. Ze is behalve dichter ook jurist.

What do the different stages entail?
At Wonderfeel we have the following stages: Het Veld, Het Weiland, De Bosplek, SOLO, De Schuur, Dichter onder de Boom, Het Dorp and Sound Bath. There are also some extra activities. You can find an overview of all stages here.
Is there kids’ programming?
Yes, on every festival day there is a program for kids, check out our Kids page for more information. And: entrance is free for children and youth up to 18 years! They do need an entrance ticket, which you can order through the ticketshop.
