Wonderfeel Festival Orchestra
Ravel, Debussy, Stravinsky
The usual: for a roaring ending, the Wonderfeel Festival Orchestra is the place to be. This time, the young musicians bring a programme including Debussy, whose Danse sacrée and Danse profane were actually meant as ‘commercial art,’ commissioned by harp maker Pleyel to showcase all the possibilities of his brand new herp model. You’ll also hear Ravel’s take of the glorious French baroque in Le tombeau de Couperin. But the pièce de résistence will definitely be Stravinsky’s Pulcinella suite, a (liberal) re-interpretation of Pergolesi. Old music, but in a new skin.
