SufiBach
Bach is for every day, and Wonderfeel makes no exception there. It is that pillar of Western classical music upon which composer Wim Selles built a bridge to the East, to traditional Sufi songs and melodies from Ancient Anatolia and Persia. Meditation is a connection throughout, from Bach’s arias Vergnügte Ruh and Mache dich mein Herze rein to songs about nature. The 10-part ensemble includes soprano Aylin Sezer, ney player Eyüpcan Açıkpazu and Deniz Akdoğan playing the Istanbul version of the kemençe.
