You’re in safe hands this afternoon with Johannes Leertouwer, conductor of De Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht and lauded Brahms expert. He conducts the Wonderfeel Festival Orchestra in Brahms’ Tragic Overture and Nänie, a rarely performed lament set to text written by Friedrich Schiller. And who will be singing? Of course: none other than the Wonderfeel Festival Choir, directed by Catelijn van Berkel, the very first winner of the Wonderfeel Wings prize. She will also conduct Fauré’s enchanting Cantique de Jean Racine, in Omer Letorey’s stunning orchestration.
