This concert features a combination of the stories of Kader Abdolah, who came from Iran to The Netherlands in 1988 as a political refugee, and Charles Koechlin’s Les heures persanes. In reality Koechlin, who was a pupil of Gabriel Fauré and the teacher of Francis Poulenc, never set foot on Persian territory; but the oriental impressions, played by contemporary music specialist Ralph van Raat, definitely spark imagination.

What do the different stages entail?

Is there kids’ programming?
Yes, on every festival day there is a program for kids, check out our Kids page for more information. And: entrance is free for children and youth up to 18 years! They do need an entrance ticket, which you can order through the ticketshop.
