Through Her Eyes: A Tribute to Croatian Women Composers
Four strong-willed men onstage, five powerful women on the programme! The Croatian Papandopulo Quartet dives into its own musical history with some of Dora Pejačević’s romantic String Quartet in C. Then we leap into today, with Olja Jelaska’s Maske, a piece around identity, transformation, and camouflage. Tena Ivana Borić’s Piece for Amy is an homage to all facets of Amy Winehouse, while Mirela Ivičević’s Goldspel unashamedly steps into the world of B-horror films. In Melankolija gegen rakija, Margareta Ferek Petrić maintains the tension between light and dark, sorrow and crazy joy.
