Alles Gute, Herr Sacher 
It’s always magical: a musician who is equally comfortable playing early music and new music, historically informed with a contemporary eye. The Irish-German cellist Nualla McKenna is like that. At Wonderfeel she will introduce you to a soulmate: the Swiss conductor Paul Sacher, who created the ancient music academy Schola Cantorum in Basel. For his 70th birthday, the people who composed pieces in celebration included Dutilleux, Britten and Lutosławski. And from earlier times she brings pieces by Martin Marais and Tobias Hume; while time seems to stop altogether in the Adagio from Kodály’s solo sonata.
