Le Consort & Adèle Charvet
Venice, 1720
Some places are just…in Venice, very near the Rialto Bridge, once stood the Teatro San Angelo; the standard place where the public went to see and hear the newest, most beautiful and most spectacular works.Especially when Vivaldi, who was without a doubt the most skilled businessman in the history of music, was in charge. Justin Taylor’s ensemble Le Consort teams up with mezzo soprano Adèle Charvet to offer a glimpse of the grandeur of those days, with excerpts from Vivaldi’s own operas and those of his most successful contemporaries.
