Alone in his kayak, Jacob Benckhuijsen explored the edges of the world, passing impressive landscapes and stormy seas, and experiencing the stillness of a long time spent alone, stillness which brings on a deep connection with life. His story turned into Man in the Wild, which lent itself perfectly to be set to music. He asked drummer Joost Lijbaart to use his pictures of the sea, icebergs, and basalt rocks as an inspiration to improvise soundscapes, and added more sounds to the result. An old harmonium, a kalimba, pieces of wood: they all make sounds that capture the great nothingness of the wilderness.

What do the different stages entail?
At Wonderfeel we have the following stages: Het Veld, Het Weiland, De Bosplek, SOLO, De Schuur, Dichter onder de Boom, Het Dorp and Sound Bath. There are also some extra activities. You can find an overview of all stages here.
Is there kids’ programming?
Yes, on every festival day there is a program for kids, check out our Kids page for more information. And: entrance is free for children and youth up to 18 years! They do need an entrance ticket, which you can order through the ticketshop.
