Opus Kaleidoskopus
In opus kaleidoskopus the NJJO meets none other than Reinier Baas, master guitarist, bandleader, composer, arranger, and winner of the 2025 Boy Edgar Prize. Under his wing, sixteen top talents are preparing themselves in a two-year coaching program to become the jazzmakers of tomorrow. On the program: surprisingly danceable music by progressive artists such as Fuensanta, Petter Eldh, Genevieve Artadi, and Misha Mengelberg, along with some of Baas’s own “greatest hits” in new arrangements. All designed to blend the daily (jazz) bread of improvisation with influences from elsewhere into an exciting new whole.
