Through The Veils
Through the Veils is a music theatre performance for voice, cello, piano, percussion, and electronics. A woman moves between two loves and two worlds: the old and the new. Love carries the weight of the world into which she was born. Even if that world has long since vanished, it still burns. Nameless.

The performance draws on poetry by Persian poet Forough Farrokhzad and fragments of poetry by Ahmad Shamlou, alongside original texts in Farsi and English, including lines written by Mahdokht Mojiri. There is a radio that keeps searching, looking for what once was.

A veil is what you learn to wear when survival demands it. And this is not a love story. It is the longer, harder road back to yourself.
