SECRETS OF THE GNAWA 
Hind Ennaira dominates today’s Gnawa music scene, an ancient music tradition of Black African slaves in Morocco. Through her guembri playing, she proves to the world that this traditional music also belongs to women. She created her own band and flourished into one of the maâlems who sell out halls. Originally, Gnawa music was closely related to the Sufi tradition, and Hind radically pulls it toward the modern age with African, Berber, and Arabian influences – with hints of rock and jazz, too.
