Mari Samuelsen & Casco Phil
She was at the top of the musical hit lists in Norway and has viewer numbers that will spark envy in any average YouTuber. The Norwegian violinist Mari Samuelsen has the charisma of a pop star and this way she reaches a totally new audience for (neo)classical music – from Max Richter, with whom she performs regularly, all the way to Vivaldi. The Flemish Casco Phil, which refers to itself as a collective and challenges classical ensemble forms, comes together with Samuelsen in a programme from Hildegard van Bingen to Caroline Shaw and from Nicola Matteis to Philip Glass.
