The ADAM Quartet performs Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet alongside new compositions by and featuring Kika Sprangers. Both composers think richly in terms of timbre and texture: Ravel paints with music—light, transparent, and full of subtle shifts—while Sprangers works with rhythmic variation, melody, and tension. Jazzism wrote: “her music combines recognizable riffs, melodic lines (…) and strong dramatic arcs”.

Kika Sprangers is one of the most striking voices of the new Dutch jazz generation, and the ADAM Quartet is known for its curious, open-minded programs in which classical and new repertoire reinforce each other.
