Marcin Maseck - Ragtime Marcin Masecki, one of Poland’s most interesting pianists, performs a set based on the Ragtime genre. As an 8 year old he visited Disneyland and was spellbound by the “Western Bar” pianist performing ragtimes on a white upright. This experience marked the beginning of his passion for jazz. After almost 30 years, in the midst of an increadibly colorful career, he decided to fulfill his childhood dream and release an album inspired by ragtime. It features a mixture of polish and american piano music from the 1910s to 1930s, filtered through Masecki’s own idiosyncratic style of virtuosic improvisation.
