De ‘As van het Kwaad’, zo noemde George Bush indertijd een hele trits landen, waaronder ook Iran. Het was de aanleiding voor Lullabies from the Axis of Evil (2004), een cd waaraan ook de Iraanse zangeres Mahsa Vahdat meewerkte. Inmiddels heeft ze zich ontworsteld aan de beperkingen voor vrouwelijke kunstenaars en vecht ze voor artistieke vrijheid. Haar liederen zijn ingebed in oude tradities, maar bedienen zich van zowel oude Perzische als hedendaagse Iraanse poëzie.

Is there kids’ programming?
Yes, on every festival day there is a program for kids, check out our Kids page for more information. And: entrance is free for children and youth up to 18 years! They do need an entrance ticket, which you can order through the ticketshop.
