The Cello Biënnale 2020 was held as an online edition, but this did not stop the Cello Biënnale Qwintet (all laureates of the National Cello Competition) from making their debut with conviction. Together with mezzo soprano Maria Warenberg, the quintet presents arrangements of Wijnand van Klaveren as well as a work specially composed for them by Florian Maier. As it turns out, the organ-like tibre of 5 cellists seems perfect for Bach and Purcell, as well as Bartók, Puccini and Tchaikovsky.
